Our Roots Begin with Diri DjonDjon
At Creole Sizzle, everything began with a craving for home.
Growing up in Haiti, Sundays meant one thing: Diri DjonDjon. My mother’s black mushroom rice filled the house with a rich, earthy aroma you could smell from the street. That scent meant family. Comfort. Love.
After moving to the U.S., I longed for those Sundays more than ever. It wasn’t just about food it was about missing home. And I realized I wasn’t alone. So many of us, living far from Haiti, are just trying to hold onto a piece of it. That’s when Creole Sizzle was born: a way to make home accessible again through food, fashion, art, and memory.
